Quickly and Safely Defrost Meat

  1. Woops, did you forget to leave the steak out to thaw again?
  2. No need to cancel cooking plans and head out to an expensive restaurant because here’s a way you can safely defrost your meat in minutes:
  3. Start by heating some water on a stove top to 140 degrees by using a thermometer (or to estimate – it’s slightly hotter than what your home tap should be. You should only be able to put your finger in for 1 -2 seconds and a few bubbles should be forming a the bottom of the pot.)
  4. Then turn off the heat and place the frozen meat in a zip-lock bag into the hot water.
  5. Small chicken cuts should take about 10 minutes but the time defrosting time will vary depending on the type of meat you are thawing.
  6. Although it shouldn’t take longer than 45 minutes.
