One of the Most Stubborn Stains

  1. If there are any budding artists in your home the I am sure paint stain removal is a prevalent plight.
  2. And removing acrylic paint from clothing (especially after it has dried) is a particular challenge but here is a technique you can try to salvage the clothing item.
  3. Rubbing Alcohol is the secret! (Which can be purchased from your local drugstore or grocery store.)
  4. Using a paper towel completely soak the area with the dried on paint. Use A LOT of Rubbing Alcohol and get the area 100% saturated. The resins in the paint will be broken down by the rubbing alcohol.
  5. Then using a coffee stirrer, or even your fingernail, scratch at the area gently going with and against the grain of the fabric. Keep applying more Rubbing Alcohol to lift off the stain.
  6. Continue until you have removed as much of the stain as possible. The stain might still be visible (but still far better than when you started).
  7. Now immediately throw the item in the wash and more of the stain should be removed in the wash cycle.
