Homemade Non-toxic Oven Cleaner

  1. More and more we are realizing that the less toxic cleaning agents in our home the better.
  2. But often a tough scrub with regular washing liquid just won’t do the trick.
  3. So unless you are lucky enough to have a self-cleaning oven (which burns off residue at very high temperatures), you should try this homemade oven cleaning recipe:
  4. You will need:
  5. An empty spray bottle.
  6. Water
  7. Baking Soda
  8. Dish Detergent
  9. Directions:
  10. Fill a spray bottle with water and spray surface generously.
  11. Generously sprinkle baking soda over the water. Leave overnight.
  12. The next day wipe out much of the baking soda and grime.
  13. Soak a sponge in hot water, squeeze out excess water and scrub away grime with liquid dish detergent first drizzled over the sponge.
  14. Thanks for the tip tipnut.com
  15. marthastewart.com then recommends that to prevent future buildup, line the oven floor with aluminum foil, and wipe oven walls and ceiling after each spill. If you do have a self-cleaning oven, remove oven racks before running the cycle.
  16. Thanks again Martha.
