Cleaning Mildew…Eww

  1. Not only does mildew just look icky but it can be detrimental to your health and your home.
  2. That’s why it is important to have it removed!
  3. Here’s how you can clean mildew yourself without the use of harmful chemicals.
  4. You will need:
  5. Some distilled white vinegar – An empty spray bottle – Baking Soda – Gloves – A scrubbing sponge – A protective cleaning mask.
  6. Directions:
  7. Fill the empty spray bottle with the white vinegar and don’t dilute.
  8. Liberally spray all the affected areas. After spraying the mildew, let it sit for a couple of hours to allow the vinegar to penetrate and kill the mildew.
  9. When the vinegar has had time to set, dampen your scrubbing sponge with hot water and load it with baking soda.
  10. One last taste of vinegar, and then scrub away.
  11. Not only will vinegar kill mildew, germs and bacteria but is extremely cheap. Vinegar will also do away with that nasty mildew odor. The baking soda and sponges help remove mildew stains.
