How to Clean a Burnt Frying Pan

  1. Oh it happens to the best of us …
  2. This tip is for anyone who has been unfortunate enough to have spent hours over a sink scrubbing in the hope of saving their frying pan.
  3. A solution that is chemical-free, halves scrubbing time and let’s you keep your pan.
  4. You will need:
  5. 1 cup of vinegar
  6. 2 tablespoons of baking soda
  7. 1 cup of water (give or take depending on the size of your pan)
  8. A scourer
  9. Directions:
  10. Step 1: Fill the bottom of the pan with a layer of water.

  11. Step 2: Add the vinegar.
  12. Step 3: Bring the pan to the boil. It should be looking a bit cleaner already.
  13. Step 4: Remove the pan from the heat and add the baking soda. Expect fizz!
  14. Step 5: Empty the pan and scour as normal, if necessary add an extra bit of dry baking soda.
  15. Step 6: If there are any super stubborn marks that don’t come off with scouring, make a paste of baking soda and a couple of drops of water. Leave the paste on the marks for a while and return to clean as normal.
